Truck shuttle deployment

A truck is scheduled for a trip by the dispatcher. In addition to the freight, the route to be taken by the driver is also determined. In future, the dispatcher will also include in this route planning the route sections that the truck is to cover on a truck shuttle train. In addition, every driver should have the right to look for a suitable alternative route in the event of unforeseeable changes to his planned route. In the future, this will also include booking truck shuttle routes at short notice. With each booking, the driver receives information about the station, the time and his boarding number.

Approach truck

The driver heads for the departure station he has booked. He passes through a gate that checks the weight and the accuracy of fit of the truck in the clearance gauge of the railroad. If he has to wait longer than ½ hour for his loading appointment, he uses the correspondingly marked parking spaces.

Loading preparation

As soon as his departure time is only ¼ hour away, he drives to the specified boarding point next to the working track and immediately enters the waiting loading tray.

Waiting position in loading tray

The driver parks his truck, applies the parking brake and moves the air suspension to the lowest position. He then moves to the accompanying wagon.

Automatic loading wagon

After the Truck Shuttle train has entered and come to a standstill, the fully automatic loading process begins. The center sections of all wagons to be served are lifted and rotated by 90°. The loading tray on the wagon, empty or loaded with a truck, is transported from the wagon and filled with a new loading tray, empty or loaded with a truck, from the opposite side in the same operation. The served middle parts are turned by 90° and lowered into the driving position.

Transportation

After the loading process has been properly completed - for this purpose, each wagon should have an automatic measuring and reporting function - the truck shuttle train continues its journey in the specified direction.

Automatic discharge

After the Truck Shuttle train has entered and stopped at the next station, the fully automatic loading process starts again from the beginning. The center sections of all wagons to be served are lifted and rotated by 90°. The loading tray on the wagon, empty or loaded with a truck, is transported from the wagon and in the same operation filled from the opposite side with a new loading tray, empty or loaded with a truck. The served middle parts are turned by 90° and lowered into the driving position.

Onward journey truck

Immediately after the truck shuttle train comes to a stop at the destination station, which the driver has scheduled and booked with his truck, the driver leaves the escort car and goes to his truck. He immediately gets into his vehicle and leaves the station via the designated feeder road.
